The Passivhaus Trust, part of the SDF Alliance, has announced the finalists for the 2023 UK Passivhaus Awards. Several projects that feature in the Sustainable Development Foundation Exemplars Library are among those vying for the top prize.
Passivhaus certified buildings are demonstrated to perfom as designed, delivering homes, work spaces and more that have high comfort in winter and summer, provide healthy indoor air quality and living environments, and simultaneously reduce fuel bills and carbon emissions. To reach the UK Passivhaus Awards shortlist, these projects have also submitted details of post-occupation performance monitoring, giving further assurance that these benefits have been attained.
In addition, our exemplars demonstrate a holistic approach to sustainability that delivers for people, planet and communities. To qualify, they deliver on additional indicators, which may include embodied carbon, natural materials, resource efficiency, nature connectedness, social value or ownership models.
Previous winners of the UK Passivhaus Awards also highlighted in the SDF Exemplars Library include Agar Grove, the Enterprise Centre and Larch Corner.
The UK Passivhaus Awards Ceremony takes place on 5 July at the Museum of London. Find out more on the Passivhaus Trust website.
